Piyesta Pinoy returns to Chicago
Filipino-Americans and fans of Philippine culture in the US are in for an authentic Pinoy celebration with the return of Piyesta Pinoy sa Chicago. The event, which will be held on March 15, 2015 in the state of Illinois, is the 4th in a series that started back in 2012. GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV will again be the exclusive media sponsor of the event.
Piyesta Pinoy sa Chicago has been known to draw crowds who desire to witness the inherent grandeur of Filipino artistry. This is shown through musical performances, vibrant dance numbers, flamboyant costumes, delicious Pinoy food, and native artworks. Locals and tourists visiting Chicago are all expected to join in on the festivities.
The Philippine American Cultural Foundation (PACF) is behind the preparations for the upcoming event. Founded in 1996, PACF is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of cultural, educational, social, and civic activities that involve Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in the Midwest. Through Piyesta Pinoy sa Chicago and the rest of their on-ground efforts, PACF hopes to foster unity, growth, and the continued awareness of the Philippines’ rich heritage.
Everyone is invited to the Piyesta Pinoy sa Chicago event. Entrance to the event venue -- the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier, Chicago, Illinois – is free for interested parties. For more details on the event, visit www.pacfmidwest.org.
