3 of 4 missing Maersk crew members found dead

The remains of three of the four missing crew members of the Maersk Line container vessel that caught fire last week in the Arabian Sea have been found, the company said  Monday.
In a statement, Maersk said the identities of the three are still being determined.
Maritime Bulletin has earlier said two of the four missing crew members were Filipinos identified as John Rey Begaso and Janrey Genvatin, both 21 years old.
"Our most heartfelt condolences go out to families of our deceased colleagues," said Maersk chief operating officer Soren Toft. "We share their sorrow and do our utmost to support them in this devastating time."
The company said it considers the remaining missing crew member to be also dead.
"Given the time passed and the severe fire damages of the vessel we must conclude by now that we have lost all four colleagues who have been missing since the fire onboard Maersk Honam which began on 6 March," it said.
"All four families of our deceased colleagues have been informed," it added.
There were nine Filipino seamen who were part of the 27-strong crew on board.
Maersk Honam caught fire at around 1520 GMT on Tuesday last week, about 900 nautical miles southeast of Salalah, Oman.
Twenty-three crew members were rescued but one of them, a Thai national, died.
The 27-member crew included 13 from India, nine from the Philippines, two Thai nationals and one each from Romania, South Africa and the United Kingdom. —KBK, GMA News
