Milan-based OFW wins Pag-IBIG raffle for August

An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) based in Milan has won Pag-IBIG’s major raffle prize for August, the Department Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday.

The DFA statement identified the lucky OFW as Emelita M. Mabilangan, who it said has won a roundtrip airline ticket from Pag-IBIG.

Mabilangan, who has worked in Milan for 13 years, went to the Consulate to get an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) before going home to the Philippines in July 2013, the DFA said.

Among the requirement for the Pag-IBIG contest was membership in the Pag-IBIG Fund.

The DFA said Mabilangan "was very grateful that she was asked to apply since it enabled her to qualify for the raffle."

Mabilangan and daughter were welcomed at the Consulate last September 5 by Consul General Lourdes S. Tabamo and Welfare Officer Cynthia Lamban, the DFA said. — KBK, GMA News
