Pinoys in Haiti advised to remain indoors

The Philippine Embassy in the US advises Filipinos to keep themselves protected from danger or risk as the anti-government protest rallies in Haiti stretch into fifth day.
"We advise our kababayans in Haiti to stay indoors and prepare their personal security plans. If they must venture outdoors, they should avoid demonstrations and any large gatherings of people," said Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez.
There are about 500 Filipinos in Haiti.
The Philippine Embassy is also monitoring the situation in Haiti as demonstrations erupted late last week and caused disruptions in Port-au-Prince and other cities.
Fitzegerals Brandt, Philippine Honorary Consul General, reported that Filipinos are safe and have so far stayed away from affected areas. — BAP, GMA News
