Two Pinoys dead in Abu Dhabi explosion - DFA

Published September 1, 2020 10:46pm Updated September 1, 2020 11:23pm By MICHAELA DEL CALLAR/ Two Filipinos were killed and some were injured in this week's explosion at a restaurant in Abu Dhabi, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday. "Ambassador Hjayceelyn M. Quintana has reached out to the families of the deceased to express condolences and to give assurance that they will be provided all necessary assistance," a DFA statement said. The gas explosion occurred at a building along Sheikh Rashid Bin Seed Road, also known as Airport Road, around 10 a.m. The department earlier said that company management was not immediately able to verify if there were Filipinos among those killed in the explosion. Quintana said some Filipinos were injured and brought to the hospital for treatment of minor and moderate injuries.
