353 Filipinos in Dubai return home via special commercial flight

Cebu Pacific on Wednesday flew home 353 Filipinos from Dubai in response to the government's call to aid the repatriation of overseas Filipino workers. In a statement, the budget carrier said the Filipinos received meal and baggage allowance upgrades. Cebu Pacific said the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) or the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) will shoulder the cost of the returning Filipinos' quarantine hotel accommodations and RT-PCR tests. The airline said that so far it has brought home more than 2,400 Filipinos from the Middle East via special commercial flights since July 2021. Cebu Pacific will also fly home on Sunday around 350 OFWs from Beirut and Bahrain on a repatriation flight chartered by the Department of Foreign Affairs. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
