2 Pinays injured in hit-and-run accident in NJ By Balitang America Staff


NEW JERSEY – Two Filipino women remain hospitalized after a vehicle struck them on Saturday night.
A report from CBS News identified the victims as Filipino cousins, Camille Calalang, 28 year old, and Lauren Jimenez, 20.
They were hit by a maroon 2006 Ford Fusion in Voorhees, New Jersey.
The driver is said to have fled the scene of the accident.
However, after an anonymous witness tipped the police, Voorhees police identified, arrested and charged alleged driver 44-year old Michelle Toussant with leaving the scene of a motor vehicular accident, endangering an injured victim, and causing injury while driving with a suspended license.
Toussant was remanded to the Camden County Jail. Bail was set at $62, 500.
The victims are still confined at the Cooper University in Camden, New Jersey.
