120 repatriated OFWs arrive from Libya
Around 120 overseas Filipino workers who availed of repatriation from strife-torn Libya arrived in the Philippines over the weekend.
Philippine Overseas Employment Administration head Hans Leo Cacdac on Sunday said the OFWs arrived via Doha (Qatar) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
In a post on his Twitter account, Cacdac said he and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration head Rebecca Calzado briefed the returning OFWs on the Labor Department's Assist WELL program.
The Labor Department's Assist WELL program aims to help returning OFWs are reintegrate with mainstream society.
The program includes welfare assistance, airport assistance, temporary shelter, transportation, medical assistance, and stress debriefing.
Repatriated workers may also avail of the following programs:
- P2-billion Reintegration Loan Fund for OWWA members
- Balik-Pinay, Balik-Hanapbuhay for distressed OFWs
- P10,000 Livelihood Assistance for non-documented workers.
