Pinay allegedly tortured by Kuwaiti sponsor seeks refuge –report
A Filipina domestic worker has sought refuge at the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait as she claimed her employer locked her inside his house and tortured her, a Kuwait news site reported Monday.
The Filipina said her employer kept her locked up for three years and tortured her by beating and burning her body, Kuwait Times reported.
She sought refuge at the embassy after managing to escape and being taken to a hospital.
The report quoted her as telling officials she was not allowed to leave her sponsor's house.
