Pinoy cross-dresser charged in UAE for luring male student –reports

A Filipino cross-dresser is facing charges in the United Arab Emirates for allegedly posing as a woman and luring a Turkish student via Facebook to a hotel room for sex last April, UAE news sites reported Wednesday.

But the Filipino was allegedly roughed up and robbed by the student and his companion after they learned he was not a woman, Gulf News reported.

Jail wardens failed to bring the Filipino to the Court of First Instance on Tuesday, prompting Presiding judge Mohammad Jamal to adjourn the hearing until the Filipino is produced on July 12.

The Turkish student and his companion were charged separately for beating up and robbing the Filipino.

separate report on Khaleej Times said the incident occurred April 21.

Prosecutors had charged the Filipino, 24, with cross-dressing, seducing the Turkish suspect and impersonation.

They said the Filipino allegedly created a woman's account on Facebook and used it to lure a 20-year-old Turkish student to meet up at a hotel and have sex.

On the day of the incident, the Filipino was said to have worn a female outfit and impersonated his female cousin.

But the student and his companion allegedly assaulted the Filipino and stole Dh52,000 from the hotel room’s safe.

The Filipino and the Turkish student were accused of having consensual sex in the hotel in Al Barsha.

In their charge sheet, prosecutors said the Filipino seduced the Turkish man and convinced him via Facebook to have sex with him. He then cross-dressed and impersonated his cousin by using her passport to check in at a hotel.

Meanwhile, the Turkish and his companion were charged with beating the Filipino, tying him up, stealing money from the safe, and taking his iPhone.

The UAE Penal Code punishes a cross-dresser with up to one year in jail and/or a fine of Dh10,000.

But the Filipino told prosecutors that the Turkish called him and offered to have sex with him for Dh1,500.

The Filipino also reportedly told prosecutors he promoted himself as a prostitute on Facebook and that the seized money was the revenues from having sex with men.

“He called me and offered to have paid sex. We agreed to meet in the hotel at 4:30 p.m. He came at 6 p.m. When I opened the door for him, he showed me what he claimed to be a police identification card. He alleged that I was wanted over cocaine charges," the Filipino said.

He added he was ordered to open the safe to check if he had hidden any drugs.

"I doubted that he was a policeman and refused to comply. When I opened the door to run away, another man [the other suspect] was standing at the door. The latter prevented me from leaving. The two men beat me up, tied me and stole my phone and the cash from the safe. Then they ran away… I crawled to the door and asked the cleaners for assistance. The duo stole my passport and that of my cousin as well,” the Filipino said.

“During questioning, the Turkish suspect alleged that he and (his companion) assaulted (the Filipino) and stole his money. He claimed that they stole Dh10,000 only,” said the policeman. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
