OFW's 14-year-old daughter shoots self dead
MANILA, Philippines - Just two weeks after her mother left abroad to work as a nurse, a 14-year-old girl shot herself with her grandfather's handgun inside her house in Las Piñas City Thursday.
Radio dzBB reported Thursday evening that the girl, initially identified as Maria Venice Danielle Genabe, was found inside her room, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim's siblings said they found her inside her room early Thursday morning, inside the house inside Gatchalian Subdivision in Las Piñas City.
Found near the body was a Beretta cal-.32 handgun belonging to her grandfather.
Initial investigation showed that on Wednesday night, she had sent text messages to friends that she had no more appetite.
Before dawn Thursday, she sent a text message to her 18-year-old boyfriend telling him she had "personal problems," but did not elaborate. - GMANews.TV
