OFWs in Kuwait send prayers for dear departed
MANILA, Philippines - overseas Filipino workers in Kuwait remembered their dearly departed by sending text messages to the local Filipino chaplain to pray for them.
The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines website said Filipinos in Kuwait City also visited the three Catholic parishes in the city.
Fr. Ben Barrameda, the lone Filipino chaplain in the area, said Filipinos have been regularly sending text messages of the names of their dearly departed for inclusion in the Mass intentions.
He said this was instead of lighting candles to avoid possible fires and clogging of the drainage system.
Barrameda added the Filipinos who could go to the Catholic parishes "simply recited prayers for the dead." - GMANews.TV
