PHL embassy lauds Pinoy nurses who helped Boston Marathon blast victims

While thankful the Boston Marathon bombing crisis is finally over, Philippine officials in the United States on Saturday lauded the Filipino nurses who responded to the victims.

The Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. also saluted the Filipino community in the US for helping make sure all Filipinos there are accounted for.

"Thank God it's over," it said on its Twitter account.

It was referring to the end of the crisis with the capture of one of the principal suspects earlier Saturday (Manila time).

At least three were killed while more than 100 were wounded in the bombing of the prestigious marathon last Tuesday (Manila time).

The embassy also paid tribute to Filipino nurses and members of the Filipino community who extended help to the victims shortly after the explosions.

"We pay tribute to our nurses and other kababayans who were among the first to respond to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings," it said.

"We also salute the Filipino Community in Boston for helping ensure that our kababayans there were all safe and accounted for," it added. — LBG, GMA News
