DFA monitoring situation in Ukraine

MANILA – The Philippine government is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said.

Valte on Saturday said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) continues to check on Filipinos in the Ukraine capital of Kiev amid continued unrest.
“Because of some of the events that have been transpiring in Ukraine, particularly Kiev, the Department of Foreign Affairs has been monitoring the situation and has been making sure that they are watching out for the welfare (of Filipinos there),” Valte said.
“We’re trying to get the numbers also from the DFA how many they have on record that are there,” she added.
There have been no reports of any Filipino being hurt or affected by the crisis there. -- Report from ANC.
