Pinoys in Saudi reminded: Don't book more than 1 passport appointment

Filipinos in Saudi Arabia seeking to renew their passports were reminded this week against booking more than one appointment via the Philippine Embassy's online facility.

In an advisory, the embassy warned applicants who engage in such a practice involes some risks.

"The practice not only deprives other applicants from obtaining appointment slots but the double or multiple entries also prevent applicants in urgent need of having their passports renewed from securing appointments in more immediate dates," it said.

The embassy noted it already made an earlier call against applicants booking double or multiple appointments for passport renewal via the ePassport Online Appointment System.

It advised those who could not meet their scheduled appointments to cancel their appointments through a link found in the online appointment confirmation message.

Also, they may inform the Embassy of their cancellation by email to the consular section at consular@philembassy-riyadh.org.

On the other hand, it said double or multiple entries may work against the applicant.

"It is important to note that double or multiple entries in the online appointment applications shall subject the applicant to removal from the appointments list," it said. — LBG, GMA News
