MANILA - Philippine Airlines said Tuesday it would not carry Qatari nationals into the United Arab Emirates due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The flag carrier also said it would not carry UAE nationals into Qatar, based on guidelines released by Abu Dhabi Airprt Immigration.
The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, whom the Gulf nations accused of supporting extremists.
"While PAL is not a party to the dispute and maintains strong bilateral ties to these countries, it shall observe guidelines issued by said nations," PAL said.
The airline said its Middle East flights were unaffected by the dispute.
PAL flies 7 times weekly to Dubai, 4 times weekly to Kuwait, 4 times weekly to Doha, 5 times weekly to Dammam, 3 times weekly to Jeddah and 7 times weekly to Riyadh.
