Body of Pinay killed in Taiwan quake to arrive in PHL on Wednesday

The body of the Filipina who was killed in last week's powerful earthquake in Taiwan is set to arrive in the Philippines on Wednesday morning, according to the Pilipino Association of Manpower Agencies Accredited to Taiwan (PILMAAT).
Melody Albano Castro's remains will arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 9:40 a.m. via China Airlines flight CI-701 from Taipei.
After offloading, Castro’s remains will be brought to the PAIR-PAGS Center on Ninoy Aquino Avenue in NAIA Complex. On Thursday, her body will be brought to Tuguegarao City in Cagayan.
Castro, who worked for a Japanese couple in a nursing home, was from Abulug, Cagayan.
Castro was among the 17 people who perished in the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit Hualien, a popular tourist city in Taiwan, on February 6. Her body was found inside a closet in one of the four buildings that collapsed due to the earthquake.
In a statement Tuesday, PILMAAT said its officials had coordinated with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) for the repatriation of Castro's remains.
It added that it will also deposit P55,000 as financial aid to the Castro family's bank account.
"Insurance proceeds for Castro’s family will also be deposited directly to the Castro family bank account," PILMAAT said. —KBK, GMA News
