Wheelchair-bound Pinay in Kuwait wants to go home, seeks help

A Filipino worker in Kuwait suffered serious injuries after she fell down the stairs while performing her duties as a household helper, GMA News stringer Shiela Vergara Rubio reported on Balita Pilipinas on Friday.
A video circulating on social media shows Divina Dijos on a wheelchair while in a hospital in Kuwait. In an interview, she expressed her intention to go home to the Philippines to recover.
"Sana makauwi na ako ng Pilipinas para diyan na lang ako magpagaling," Dijos, who is from Davao City, said.
Dijos said she has been suffering from her condition for eight months already. She said she met an accident while rushing to perform an errand ordered by her female employer.
"Nahulog sa hagdan. Inutusan ka ng madam mo ng madalian, siyempre mahuhulog ka, matataranta ka," she said.
Through information from One Mindanao, GMA News learned that Dijos is already separated from her husband and children, who are oblivious to her condition.
"Nakita ko siya na naka-wheelchair kasi ipinakita ng kapitbahay ko na may Facebook," said Edwin Tapisdating, Dijos' husband.
The report said both the Philippine government and the recruitment agency have vowed to help Dijos return to the Philippines. —KBK, GMA News
