30 undocumented Pinoys arrive from Abu Dhabi

Thirty undocumented Filipinos were successfully repatriated to the Philippines on Wednesday from Abu Dhabi, Mao dela Cruz reported on Super Radyo dzBB.

The Filipinos were welcomed by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after their arrival at 9:07 a.m. aboard flight number PR657.
OWWA clarified that the Filipinos will not receive the P5,000 financial aid reserved for OFWs repatriated as part of the United Arab Emirates' repatriation program.
They will, however, receive P22,000 in the form of livelihood assistance as part of OWWA's Balik Pinas, Balik Hanap-Buhay program and a transportation allowance.
Some of the Filipinos, who came to the Middle East using tourist visas, were jailed before they were repatriated while others were forced to seek shelter with the Philippine Embassy.
A medical team was on standby to assist Filipinos in need of medical assistance. — Rie Takumi/RSJ, GMA News
