Pinoys in Paris beat homesickness through sportsfest

Filipinos in France have found a way to beat homesickness: by holding a sportsfest.
"Mahirap na walang kaparis," one Filipino said when asked by GMA News' Connie Sison to describe life in Paris in her report on Balitanghali on Tuesday.
"Kahit nami-miss ang pamilya, masaya pa rin," said another Filipino.
Most of the participants in the sportsfest work in hotels, restaurants and as domestic helpers.
Aside from sports like basketball, darts and volleyball, the event also has singing and dancing, even zumba.
"[In] this event nagba-bonding tsaka nagkikita-kita 'yung mga different regions, nagsasama-sama, nagkakaroon ng pagkakaisa," said Lorna Munnecom, organizer.
Participants also partake in a food feast that features typical Filipino dishes like dinuguan, suman, laing, tuyo, daing na bangus, barbecue and rice.
The sportsfest is held annually. —KBK, GMA News
