PHL envoy to Pinoys in Japan: Invest in the Philippines


Philippine Ambassador to Japan Jose C. Laurel V on Saturday urged Filipinos in Japan to invest in the Philippines, citing the strong and steady growth of its economy.
Laurel, in his remarks during the oath-taking ceremonies of the Philippine Assistance Group officers, said the Philippines remains one of the fastest growing economies in Asia, and this could be seen throughout the country, according to a press release issued by the Philippine Embassy in Japan.

The ambassador also said they will organize financial literacy training for Filipinos to help them save and invest in the Philippines.
Laurel and Consul General Robespierre Bolivar gave out Certificates of Commendation to the outgoing officers of the PAG for their assistance to Filipinos in distress and their contributions to the Filipino community.
Formed in 1997, the Tokyo-based PAG is a federation of Filipino community organizations.
It raises funds to assist Filipinos in distress, both in Japan and the Philippines. —With a report from JP Soriano/KG, GMA News
