2 vacationing OFWs found dead in QC apartment
Two vacationing overseas Filipino workers were found dead inside their apartment in Quezon City's Roxas District on Friday in what the police described as a crime fueled by jealousy.
Both Erika Mauricio and Albrian Padua sustained gunshot wounds to the head, although it was not clear who shot whom, a report on GMA News TV's “Balita Pilipinas” said.
The two were vacationing in the Philippines with their five-year-old daughter, with Mauricio and the child coming from the United Arab Emirates and Padua from Japan, the report said.
A neighbor said he heard gunshots at about 3 a.m. Later on, neighbors saw the couple's daughter emerge from the apartment with blood on her dress.
The report said the investigators were looking into jealousy as possible motive after the couple's daughter informed them that her father was prone to it.
Police believe one of the two victims shot the other before committing suicide. A caliber 45 was found at the crime scene.
