Malaysian police set hotline for hit-and-run killer of Pinay student
Police in Malaysia have set up a hotline to go after the motorist who hit and killed a Filipina student last month.
Johor Baru police Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh urged those with information to call the hotline at 07-2212 999, Malaysia's The Star Online reported Thursday.
Sulaiman also said police had tracked the victim’s relative living in Stulang and informed them of the fatal incident, the report said.
However, the report added the victim's relatives were "too distraught and refused to speak to reporters when approached at the mortuary in the hospital."
Last April 30, a motorist fatally hit the student while she was crossing the road at Km 4.6, Jalan Johor Baru-Kota Tinggi.
“The case has been classified under Section 41 (1) and Section 52 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving,” Sulaiman said. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
