Pinay jailed and fined in Kuala Lumpur for shoplifting
A Malaysian court on Thursday handed down a one-day jail term and a fine of RM600 (P8,124) on a Filipina clerk after she pleaded guilty for shoplifting.
Malaysia's The Star Online cited a Bernama report identifying the Filipina as Ma. Carolina Andallon, 40.
It said Andallon admitted to the offense at the Aeon supermarket in Sentul in Kuala Lumpur on May 10.
She was accused of stealing cuttlefish, tiger prawns, sachets of powdered drinks, beauty care products and dishwashing detergent worth RM176.06.
Case records showed a security guard saw Andallon stuffing the items into a plastic bag and apprehended her in the supermarket's parking area. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
