Pinoys in HK prepare to celebrate PHL independence June 8

Filipinos in Hong Kong will mark Independence Day four days in advance on June 8, the Philippine Consulate General there said.

In a post on its Facebook page, the Consulate General said the "Kapangyawan Festival" will be held at Chater Road from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Among the activities for the day are a cultural parade, a "sayaw Pinoy" street dancing, rickshaw floats, and a "Pinoy Concert."

The Consulate General also said guests at the event include the Hong Kong Police Band and the HK Dragon Dancers.

At home, Filipinos are expected to mark the country's 116th Independence Day on June 12.  Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
