EducationUSA Fair opens opportunities to study abroad




The United States Embassy in Manila recently hosted the EducationUSA Fair in Taguig City  that opened opportunities to Filipinos who want to study abroad, according to a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday.
EducationUSA, the US government’s official resource for students interested in pursuing higher education opportunities in the United States, held its annual education fair last March 1 at the Fort, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig that featured more than 36 universities and colleges in the US.
The school representatives talked about their courses and programs with the interested individuals.
"Thirty-six universities here today covering a wide range of programs from all across the United States—big schools, small schools, arts colleges, science focused colleges,” said the US Embassy-Manila cultural affairs officer Matt Keener.
“United States offers world class educational opportunities, a huge diversity of programs and volumes of wonderful class and we think that every student should have the chance to study abroad,” he also said.
A group of students from Marikina High School came to the event. One of the students Clarex Manglangit, who is planning to take up Law, said she wants to study abroad to get a scholarship.
"Gustong-gusto ko po talaga kasi ang gusto kasing kunin is Law. Kapag abroad daw po, mas maraming opportunities lalong lalo na sa raw sa US kasi may mga scholarship doon,” she said.
Interested individuals who did not make it to the education fair can inquire at the US Embassy’s Facebook page or coordinate with accredited partner universities and colleges. —Joviland Rita, LDF, GMA News
