Pinoy priest charged for raping altar girl, filming sex act in Philadelphia

A Filipino Catholic priest was charged with rape for allegedly drugging a teenage altar girl into having a sexual relationship with him in Philadelphia.
According to a report of news site Philly.com, Reverend Armand Garcia on Monday was charged for raping a teenage girl at the Immaculate Heart Parish in Roxborough and recording their sexual act in 2014.
Investigators believe that Garcia had been in sexual contact with the victim since she was 16 years old.
Sources of the case claimed that Garcia, who is now 49, allegedly offered the altar girl alcohol or marijuana during encounters for years in the parish rectory, his living quarters, and other locations.
Garcia’s accuser reported the alleged abuse after he had been transferred to St. Martin of Tours in Summerdale in 2017.
The Filipino priest paid a $250,000-bond and was released on Monday evening.
A preliminary hearing for the case is scheduled on March 14. — Joviland Rita/MDM, GMA News
