Overseas Filipino workers warned against using fake documents

THE Philippine Overseas Employment Administration warned balik-manggagawa or Filipino workers returning to their job site on the use of forged documents when applying for exit clearance or overseas employment certificate (OEC).

This after the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Kuala Lumpur has reported that a certain Gina Leyson Erana has been supplying fake employment contract, passport, visa, and other related documents to Filipinos working illegally in Malaysia who want to secure an OEC in the Philippines.
POLO Malaysia has recorded a case of an undocumented worker who left the Philippines for Malaysia using forged documents provided by Erana.
Erana used to have a Facebook account in the name of “Juvica A. Pudun” where she advertised supposed job vacancies and offered “documentation services” to Filipinos, especially household service workers working illegally in Malaysia.
She was arrested by Malaysian authorities for being an illegal immigrant and was deported to the Philippines. However, Erana is suspected to have returned to Malaysia and is still conducting her illegal activities through another Facebook account.

China ships maintain presence in key West Philippine Sea areas --- Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

STAR / Michael Varcas MANILA, Philippines — While Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) have decreased in number, they have maintained a presence in three key land features where naval and coast guard ships have intensified operations in the past seven days, according to the Philippine Navy. MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) sees social media as the main reason for the rising number of Filipinos marrying or becoming partners of foreign nationals. In 2022, the CFO recorded 6,854 marriages or partnerships with foreign nationals, a 40.1 percent increase from the 4,891 “intermarriages” recorded in 2021. “First of all, what we see in the increase in the marriage rate of Filipinos or Filipinos with foreign partners is because of social media, (that) is number one; matchings; letters, introduction of their friends,” CFO chairperson Romulo Arugay said at the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public briefing yesterday.
