Japan to hire 300 careworkers, 50 nurses —POEA


The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that Japan has opened the application for hiring of 50 nurses (kangoshi) and 300 careworkers (kaigofukushishi).
Interested applicants may apply for the positions through the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS).
For nurses, the qualifications are as follows:
  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing with active PRC License;
  • Minimum of three (3) years hospital work experience;
  • Must be motivated and committed to work and study as candidate for “Kangoshi” to obtain a National License in Japan.
For careworkers, the qualifications are as follows:
  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (with or without PRC License);
  • Graduate of four (4) year course BUT should submit TESDA National Certificate II in Caregiving (NC II);
Candidate nurses should first complete a six-month onsite Japanese language training and undergo on-the-job training.
Before they can work as registered nurses, they should be able to pass the licensure examination in Japan which they could take up to three times.
Candidate careworkers should complete a six-month onsite language training and work on-the-job for at least three years before they can take the national examination for careworkers.
