Pinay who died in Canada won’t get financial help from OWWA

MANILA, Philippines - An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who died after a tree fell on her in Canada will not receive financial assistance from the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA).

QTV’s Balitanghali reported on Thursday that the relatives of Olivia Banito will not receive monetary help as the Filipina was not able to avail of OWWA’s membership.

Banito’s remains arrived in the country on Thursday and would be flown to her hometown in Pagunday, Quirino. - GMANews.TV
