PCSO to shoulder govt-hospital bills of flood victims






MANILA - Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office pledged to shoulder the hospital bills of flood victims rushed to government hospitals, Radyo Singko reported Thursday.InterAksyon.com

PCSO assured flood victims or patients confined in public hospitals in Metro Manila as well as in nearby provinces can avail of such benefit by coordinating with any PCSO office regarding their hospital expenses.
According to PCSO General Manager Ferdinand Roxas II, his office is already prepared to render service to the public since they are expecting an increase in number of victims asking for assistance.
Aside from pledging to shoulder hospital expenses of flood victims, the charity institution also released 100 sacks of rice, assorted goods, mats, and other relief items to local government units including Pasay, Bacoor in Cavite, and Quezon City.
A total of 100 sacks of rice and other food items was also donated to a media foundation; these will be distributed to affected residents of nearby provinces in Luzon.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development office in Pasay City also received medicines from PCSO for distribution.

Furthermore, PCSO extended help to the Philippine National Red Cross by lending them buses to be used for evacuation operations.
