Pinas bibili ng 12 jet fighters sa South Korea

Mistulang magsa-shopping ng jet ­fighters si Pa­ngulong Benign­o ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III sa South Korea matapos kumpirmahin na ­bibili ang kanyang ­gobyerno ng 12 o isang squadron na F-50.
Sa press ­conference ni Aquino sa Grand Hyatt Hotel sa Seoul, South Korea, sinabi nito natakdang bilhin ng Pili­pinas ang mga nabanggit na jet fighter sa lalong madaling panahon.
“Meron tayong tina­tapos both in their laws and our laws, ano, ‘yung sa procurement. ­Medyo… Napakahaba nu’ng mga details e. Pero bottom line, both sides agreed to try and expedite the arm purchase and the deli­very of these planes,” pahayag ni Aquino.
Sabi ng Malacañang na hindi na dadaan sa bidding ang pagbili ng mga bagong eroplanong pandigma dahil, government to government ang sistemang gagamitin dito, kung saan aabot umano sa P18.975 bilyon ang halaga.
Mula, aniya, ang halagang ito sa modernization program fund ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na ang layon ay gawing modern ang military hardware ng Pilipinas.
“Don’t forget that we have… Parang the last fighter we had was the F-5, and if I’m not mista­ken, ang nag-donate sa atin noon Korea. The last time it flew was 2005. So ang meron tayo nga­yon, fixed wheel pero propeller ‘to,” ani Aquino.
