Pinoy nurse in Chicago charged with sexual abuse of paralyzed soldier

A male Filipino nurse in the United States has been charged with allegedly sexually abusing a US war veteran who became quadriplegic and cannot speak following a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
 
Dioscoro Flores, 39, was arrested for allegedly fondling the soldier, according to a report on the Chicago Tribune.
 
The report quoted Cook County prosecutors as saying the two incidents occurred in the soldier's room at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago between July 4 and 6.
 
It cited a police report indicating the soldier managed to let his father know of the incident via eye motions and a spell board.
 
His father in turn reported the incident to the rehabilitation institute staff.
 
The father was quoted in the report as saying it was "shock at first and then anger afterward."
 
"You know ... just kind of knowing that something like that could have happened," he said.
 
"I'm proud of him for saying something," he added.
 
He also said his son remains an active member of the military who suffered an injury in May that left him a with quadriplegia.
 
The Chicago Tribune report said the paralyzed soldier was a sharpshooter and did a tour of duty in Afghanistan from June 2011 to August 2012.
