Pinoys in parts of Thailand told to remain vigilant even after state of emergency lifted

It advised Filipinos with essential travel plans to, and those residing in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand, to "exercise extra vigilance" and observe safety precautions.

The safety precautions include:

Reports on The Bangkok Post said that while an emergency decree had been lifted and the Bangkok shutdown is over, tension may still build after the Constitutional Court agreed to rule on the status of caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra over the removal order she issued against National Security Council (NSC) chief Thawil Pliensri.

Bangkok Post said some government figures warned the court's decision to consider if Yingluck violated the constitution in the Thawil case may lead to a violent confrontation.

It said the court affirmed its authority to consider the Thawil case, where Yingluck was accused of breaching the Constitution when she signed an order transferring Thawil to be prime ministerial adviser in 2011.  Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
