P15M aid provided to Pinoys in Jeddah

MANILA – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia has so far spent over P15 million for undocumented Filipinos needing assistance in the kingdom.
Garibay said the assistance was in the form of food, milk, water, medicine, hospitalization and even the plane fare for the repatriation of undocumented Filipinos.
He also stressed that the consulate provided medical assistance to the two sick babies who died in the kingdom.
But doctors failed to revive the baby when rushed to a hospital.
Like the first baby, the second baby was already sick when brought to the consulate, Garibay said in an interview with DZMM on Tuesday morning.
"Nung inilapit sa atin, mayroon nang infection sa central nervous system," he said. The baby boy was also rushed to a hospital.
On Monday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that the 20-month old boy died on June 30.
