Presentation of Pag-IBIG Fund's Awards to the Chairman of the Pag-IBIG Board

VP Binay presented awards for excellent Pag-IBIG performance

Vice President Jejomar C. Binay, concurrent Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and the Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, commended the Pag-IBIG Fund on the awards it has received for its excellent performance during the formal presentation of said awards at the Coconut Palace.

“Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa inyo dahil sa maayos ninyong pagsasakatuparan sa direksiyong aking inilahad nang ako’y umupo bilang Chairman ng Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council at ng Pag-IBIG Board, magtatatlong taon na ang nakararaan. Malaking bagay sa ating tagumpay ang ating pagkakaisa’t pagtutulungan para lalong mapaigi ang Pag-IBIG Fund. Madalas nga ninyong sabihin, at inuulit ko rin – bigger, better, faster Pag-IBIG Fund!” said Vice President Binay, as he addressed the audience of Pag-IBIG officials, led by their President and Chief Executive Officer, Atty. Darlene Marie B. Berberabe. Pag-IBIG Trustees and partners also joined the presentation.

The Pag-IBIG Citi Prepaid Card has been highly commended as a Best Card Solution at the Adam Smith Awards, making Pag-IBIG the first government institution to receive such recognition. Pag-IBIG’s membership registration processes passed the Surveillance Audit and maintained its ISO 9001:2008 Certification, signifying its capacity to participate in the international arena. The Civil Service Commission conferred the Citizen’s Satisfaction Center Seal of Excellence to Pag-IBIG Davao Branch, and four other branches received Excellent Rating at the Anti-Red Tape Act Survey, showing Pag-IBIG’s discipline in providing excellent service to its members.

China ships maintain presence in key West Philippine Sea areas --- Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

STAR / Michael Varcas MANILA, Philippines — While Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) have decreased in number, they have maintained a presence in three key land features where naval and coast guard ships have intensified operations in the past seven days, according to the Philippine Navy. Latest monitoring by the Philippine Navy showed armed ships of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) maintaining a menacing presence around the grounded BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal, Panatag Shoal and Escoda Shoal. According to the Philippine Navy, there are 17 Chinese military vessels and 28 China Coast Guard (CCG) boats spotted inside the country’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) between Sept. 23 and 30, or one vessel more than in the previous week Sept.17-23.
