Ligao National High School singers win top prize at Busan choral tilt

The chorale group from Ligao National High School in Albay came home with the grand prize from the 2016 Busan Chorale Festival and Competition held at the Busan Cinema Center in Busan, South Korea from October 18 to October 20.
The proudly Filipino group, headed by choir coordinator Maria Theresa Serrano, beat groups from Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and Taiwan, according to GMA News stringer Michael Jaucian.
Ligao National High School's winning musical pieces include "Cantane Domino" by Josu Elberdin, "Ayug Ti Aminan" by Fidel G. Calalang, Jr., "My Souls Been Anchored with the Lord" by Moses Hogan, and "Salidummay and Banwar iti Cordillera" by Normita Bing Rio-Pablico.
The Busan Chorale Festival and Competition is on its 12th year of “wonderful cultural musical exchange of international choral music,” making it one of the most well-renowned chorale festivals in the world.
