PHL Embassy advises Filipinos along path of 'Matthew' to take necessary precaution
The Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. advised Filipinos to take precautions as Hurricane Matthew is expected to hit the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The announcement, posted on the embassy's website, called on about 225,000 Filipinos living in the said states to monitor public information and to follow advisories issued by state and local authorities.
The embassy said about 150,000 Filipinos are based in Florida, which is expected to experience the effects of the hurricane tonight and is currently declared under a state of emergency by US President Barack Obama. — BAP, GMA News
