The report said the maid, who has been detained at Bur Dubai police station for the past two months, claimed that she was raped by an Indian taxi driver a few days after arriving in Dubai.
She told police that she did not tell her sponsor about the incident.
“We are not sure if she got pregnant in her country or she got pregnant here in Dubai,” the police said, adding that her case is "under investigation."
The Filipina's Arab sponsor told the police that he found the housemaid through a labor recruitment agency.
He said they waited two months before applying for the maid's residency visa to ensure her work was up to standard.
