PHL Embassy in Malaysia closed for consular services May 13
The Philippine embassy in Kuala Lumpur will be closed for consular services on Monday to make way for the overseas absentee voting in the May 13 midterm elections.
In an announcement on its website, the embassy said it will receive ballots and voters on Monday until 7 p.m.
"Regular Embassy operations will resume on 14 May 2013 (Tuesday)," the embassy said in a news release.
However, the embassy said it will be open over the weekend on May 11 and 12 to accommodate those who wish to drop off their ballots and vote.
It noted President Benigno Aquino III's Proclamation No. 571 declared May 13 a special public non-working holiday to let Filipinos vote.
