20th Anniversary Commemorative Medal Unveiled
the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), in partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, unveiled its 20th Anniversary Commemorative Medal in ceremonies at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
Made of 89 percent copper, five percent aluminium, five percent zinc and one percent tin, the medal is 34 millimetres in diameter, 2.4 millimetres thick and weighs 15 grams.
Inscribed in the medal’s obverse side is ’20 years’ representing PhilHealth’s 20th year of providing every Filipino family with financial protection against health risks. The number ‘0’ is represented by clasping hands of people from all walks of life, symbolizing PhilHealth’s universality, and articulating its theme, ‘Ensuring Universal Coverage for All Filipinos.’
In a semi-circle along the top edge of the inner part of the medal is the inscription ‘Philippine Health Insurance Corporation’ and the years 1995-2015 are also inscribed at the bottom edge of the medal.
“We are proud to be producing the first-ever official commemorative medal on our 20th anniversary. This is a memento that will forever be etched in the history of this government corporation, a memorabilia of the glorious, historic past that we proudly share with our stakeholders,” said PhilHealth President and CEO Alexander A. Padilla.
As it journeys towards the fulfilment of Universal Coverage, PhilHealth continues to enhance the benefit packages that it provides to its 82 million-strong membership base, while reinforcing ties with its health care provider partners to guarantee that only the best care is provided in times of ill health. It also intensifies its information dissemination initiatives to ascertain that every member is aware of what his benefits are and uses this knowledge proactively, whenever and wherever he needs to.
