A fresh batch of 19 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) arrived in the Philippines from Kuwait on Saturday, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
In a News TV Live report, the DFA was quoted as saying that the undocumented OFWs came from the shelter being provided by the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait.
The group of repatriates originally included 30 OFWs, but only 19 were allowed to return to the Philippines, as 11 others were stopped at the Immigration for further documentation.
Meanwhile, the DFA assured the 19 repatriated OFWs that they would each be receiving P5,000 in financial assistance from the government and free tickets that they could use to go back to their respective provinces. — MDM, GMA News
