Pinoy in Saudi Arabia hurt in workplace asphalt accident

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — A Filipino worker in Najran province suffered burns last weekend following a workplace accident involving hot asphalt.
Consul General Edgar Badajos identified the victim as Rudy Papilosa, 43, a truck driver from Masbate province.
Badajos said Papilosa was driving the truck when it overturned, causing the asphalt it was carrying to spill on the ground and on him.
The Filipino worker, who was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, suffered burns on his face and body.
"Naka-confine po sa ospital si Ginoong Papiloso para magpagaling  pero hindi pa po namin alam kung kailan siya makakalabas," Badajos said.
The official said the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah is already coordinating with Papilosa's employer regarding the assistance that should be given to the OFW. —Ronaldo Concha/KBK, GMA News
