Passport slots for July to September open starting May 2 —DFA

EXCEPT FOR ASEANA

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday announced that it will open passport online appointment slots for July to September 2018 in all consular offices in the country except for the DFA Aseana in Parañaque City.
In its advisory, the DFA said the opening of slots will start on May 2, Wednesday.
The agency said the pilot testing of ePayment in DFA Aseana is already in its "final stages."
"The pilot tests have shown promising results. Show up rates have risen to 95 percent and above, minimizing the number of slots wasted through non-appearance. There are no bogus appointments as applicants now have to pay before an appointment is confirmed," the DFA said.
"The time applicants spend at DFA has been reduced considerably, with ePayment decreasing the usual processing time," it added.
Once it is finalized, it will be implemented in all consular offices beginning with DFA Aseana, according to DFA.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano announced the ePayment scheme in December last year, touting it as one of the efforts by the department to make passport application more convenient for the public. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
