PHL envoy appeals to OFWs at Libya hospital: Evacuate now

Dozens of Filipino workers at a hospital in Libya were urged to evacuate immediately on Sunday night as the situation in the conflict-stricken capital Tripoli and its surrounding areas continues to worsen.
"Philippine Embassy in Libya appeals to the more than 60 of our kababayan working at the Ali Omar Ashkr Hospital in Esbea and their dependents to evacuate now," Charge d'Affaires of the Philippine Embassy to Libya Elmer Cato said in a post on his Twitter account.
"The area is no longer safe. Please don’t want for more artillery rounds to fall. Please move to the Embassy now," he added.

Thirty-two Filipinos have already been repatriated from Tripoli since the firefight began on April 4, 2019.
There are more than 1,000 Filipinos are in the capital, Cato previously said. — Dona Magsino/BM, GMA News
