THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has requested Kuwaiti authorities to investigate the untimely death of a Filipina household service worker.

The DFA expressed its condolences to the family of a Filipina who was pronounced dead on arrival after being rushed to Al-Sabah Hospital, Kuwait on May 14.
The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait said that they received a report on the case on the midnight of May 16 and has assigned a lawyer to handle it.
The Embassy is in close coordination with local authorities to gather evidence and investigate the untimely demise of the Filipina.
Embassy Charge d’Affaires Mohd Noordin Pendosina N. Lomondot also said that the Embassy has requested Kuwait’s General Forensics and Evidence Department to expedite the release of the forensic report, which is usually processed within four to six weeks.
The Filipina was deployed as a household service worker in January 2016 to Kuwait and returned in 2018 as a Balik-Manggagawa on a second contract with her Kuwaiti employer.
