PHL Embassy in Saudi Arabia tweaks schedules for Ramadan
Filipinos in Saudi Arabia needing to transact with the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh were advised over the weekend of changes in its schedule for the holy month of Ramadan.
In an advisory posted on its website, the embassy said its working hours and available services will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday to Thursday.
This will be "effective on the first day of Ramadan," it said.
The embassy's normal working hours are Sunday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
While the embassy did not specify the date of the start of Ramadan, the DubaiCalendar.ae site said Ramadan is to start on June 29 and end July 27.
During Ramadan, the embassy said those with appointments for passport renewal will be accommodated from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., from June 24 to July 24.
"Other services, such as notarial, authentication, civil registry, and other documentation services, do not require appointments," it added.
But the embassy said there will be no change in schedules of outreach services or Embassy on Wheels.
