23 women rescued in Palawan from human trafficking

Twenty-three women suspected to be human trafficking victims were rescued by authorities in Bataraza, Palawan, a report on Unang Balita on Tuesday said.
The women were scheduled to go to Malaysia, Palawan police said.
Investigation showed the recruitment was made through cellphone and the internet to avoid any paper trail.
In August, 13 women about to be brought to Malaysia were rescued in Bataraza by the Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
The local government has been coordinating with the Malaysian government to curb human trafficking. —KG, GMA News
