Duterte on Mary Jane Veloso: I pray I can do something for her

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said he is praying that something can be done for detained overseas Filipino worker Mary Jane Veloso.
"I pray I can do something for her," he said while welcoming 129 repatriated OFWs from Saudi Arabia.
Veloso has been jailed in Indonesia since 2010 for drug trafficking.
Duterte is expected to visit Indonesia on September 8-9 after going to Brunei and the ASEAN Summit in Laos.
Veloso is on death row in Indonesia, but she was spared from execution in April 2015 upon the Philippine government's request.
The Aquino government said Veloso is needed for her testimony against her alleged recruiter, Maria Kristina Sergio.
Sergio allegedly tricked Veloso into bringing a suitcase laden with 2.6 kilograms of heroin to Indonesia. —KG, GMA News
