Mary Jane Veloso's family 'in shock' over execution reports –Migrante

Mary Jane Veloso's family in the Philippines was "in shock" over reports that President Rodrigo Duterte has given the Indonesian government the "go-ahead" to execute her for drug trafficking.
In a statement Monday, pro-OFW group Migrante International, one of the groups helping Veloso and her family, sought explanation from Duterte and Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay regarding the reports.

Jakarta Post report on Monday quoted Indonesian President Joko Widodo as saying that Duterte "has given the go-ahead to proceed with the execution" of Veloso, who was sentenced to death for bringing 2.6 kilograms of heroin at the Yogyakarta Airport in 2010.
Malacañang and the DFA have yet to confirm the report as of posting time.
Duterte and Widodo met during the Philippine leader's working visit to Indonesia after attending the ASEAN Summit in Laos last week.
Duterte, upon his arrival to the Philippines late Friday, confirmed that he and Widodo discussed Veloso's case behind closed doors, but refused to give details. —KBK, GMA News
